Summary: graduate student at the University of Adelaide and mass murderer who was given a 200-plus life sentence for numerous counts of first-degree murder charges when he went on a Jan. 8, 2001 killing spree in four separate locations of Adelaide City Centre's Victoria Square tourists spots that resulted in the deaths of 29 individuals (mostly tourists) and left 34 others injured in one of the worst mass murders in Australian history since 1996.
