Summary: former Olympic triathlete who had one two gold medals and a silver medal in three events (track-and-field, platform diving, and javelin throw) at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea but who had later became one of Texas's most notorious death row inmates when he was convicted of capital murder in the bludgeoning death of his wife Stella during an apparent domestic dispute at their home in San Antonio, Texas in 1998.
