Summary: retired librarian and mass murderer who became the oldest man on Florida's death row for killing six people and wounding 14 others during a 1987 shooting spree when he reportedly shot at some teens playing basketball in front of his Palm Bay home, then fled the scene with a shotgun and an assault rifle, where he also fatally shot two Florida Tech students at a nearby intersection, one woman in a Publix parking lot and two police officers and another man at a Winn-Dixie Supermarket before he was later arrested after a six-hour hostage standoff.
