Summary: son of noted British economist and social science researcher Dr. Stephen Lissenburgh who along with his father and 5-year-old brother Nikhil were among one of more than thousands of people reported missing and presumed dead in the devastating South Asian Tsunami that swept across the Indian Ocean and killed over, 2,300+ people including his grandparents Edward and Gemini Deraniyagala during the tidal wave while he was on vacation with his family at a wildlife national park in Sri Lanka.
