Summary:
Nigerian grassroots activist and national president of the Nigerian oil workers' union Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) that became a potent force for change in that oil-rich but desperately poor country who was a leading challenge against those who want Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo to seek a third presidential term, which is prohibited by the nation's constitution (Obasanjo has repeatedly said he will not seek a third term) and whose life-long dedication to democratic principles and fairness to workers during the Sani Abacha military regime had been proved invaluable in building Nigeria's oil unions as well as today's Nigerian labour movement.
