Summary: beloved community leader and activist who was a pioneer for the rights of New Orleans's gay and lesbian community, helping to fuel the city's growing lesbian presence with her Club 621 Bar on Elysian Fields Avenue and worked diligently for human rights and AIDS, who with her partner Margie Normand owned and operated five bars throughout the city during the 1970's and 1980's, who was heavily involved with the gay carnival organizations and worked closely with the Krewes of Polyphemus and Armeinius, helping with fund-raising and events and serving on the board of the Academy of the Golden Goddess Inc. (AGGI) Awards.
