Pendleton Powell Bowen
Summary: daughter of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Lewis F. Powell, Jr. who was a member of Washington State University's Beach Watcher program and played a part as the group preserved the skeleton of a 33-foot gray whale that had washed ashore in 1998 (the project was completed in 2000 and the skeleton is on display at the Coupeville Wharf), and who had also served as director of the volunteer program at the Science Museum of Virginia.
