one of the last three surviving World War I veterans in Great Britain who was revealed as one of the last living World War I veterans in 2008 after enlisting in the British Army in 1918 even though he spent limited time in the army and did not see any combat, in which the Ministry of Defence has not officially confirmed his war service, but many World War I service records were destroyed in the Blitz during World War II.
