South African jazz pianist, composer, and record producer considered as one of South Africa's greatest jazz artists who had performed at many international music festivals during his professional debut career with singer Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela's band in the early 1990's, but who had later gained widespread attention in 1996 as a solo artist winning two FNB South African Music Awards for traditional jazz and was seen as a rising star in the country's jazz music circles.
