Summary: research technician at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute of Rockefeller University in the Protein/DNA Technology Center in Manhattan, New York who was among one of hundreds of rescue workers reported missing and presumed dead in the September 11 World Trade Center collapse that killed over 1,600 people when the hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 slammed into the building's north tower while he was on his way to work at the university hospital as he witnessed the smoke coming from the Twin Towers and hurried to the scene to aid victims despite using his police and EMT identification to get a ride through the restricted traffic.
