Summary: Mexican immigrant who had been hospitalized in critical condition for nearly a month at an intensive care unit from extensive burns suffered in the October 2007 wildfire that burnt over 500,000 acres across Southern California from Santa Barbara County to the U.S.-Mexico border killing 10 people and injured at least 85 others including 61 firefighters while she was illegally crossing the border with her brother Nicolas Beltran and several other migrants after attending her father's funeral in Mexico, in which the blaze forced approximately 1,000,000 people to evacuate their homes and became the largest evacuation in California's history.
