Summary: veteran of the Bataan Death March of World War II, in which tens of thousands of U.S. and Filipino POWs were forced to march 65 miles from the Bataan Peninsula to a prison camp and faced starvation, beatings and heat-related deaths, who helped found the Bataan Memorial Military Museum and Library in Santa Fe and was considered the oldest living survivor of the ordeal.
