Louisa Livingston Kennedy
Summary: wife of third-ranking diplomat and senior official Moorhead C. Kennedy who became a highly visible spokeswoman for the hostages' families during the Iranian hostage crisis when her husband was among more than 60 people taken hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran by militant students on November 4, 1979, in which 52 Americans (including Moorhead Kennedy) remained in captivity until January 20, 1981 but some hostages were freed before the crisis ended.
