Summary: restaurateur and namesake of the Casamento's Restaurant, the famous Uptown New Orleans oyster bar and restaurant which was opened by his father Joe Casamento after immigrating to the United States from Ustica, Italy in the early 1900's, who had been a fixture at the iconic, tile-lined family restaurant since childhood as he shucked oysters for half a century amid the floor-to-ceiling tile of his family's eponymous restaurant across town on Magazine Street (he lived above the restaurant), who runs the restaurant with his nephew C.J. Gerdes and niece-in-law Linda to keep the place immaculate for many years after his father's death.
