John Maurice Scott
Summary: director general of the Fiji Red Cross who had gained international attention for his role in the hostage crisis during the 2000 Fijian coup when he took courageous step of assisting hostages trapped in Parliament for 56 days after coup leader George Speight seized Fiji's prime minister Mahendra Chaudhry and his government under captivity in May 2000, but who declined to testify in Speight's trial because he did not want to compromise the neutrality of the Red Cross.
