Summary: British hereditary peer and award-winning film producer who received two Academy Award nominations for Best Picture as producer of 1968's Romeo and Juliet and 1984's A Passage to India, but who was briefly in the limelight during his film career as among one of the survivors seriously injured in the seven-strong boat party which was blown up by the IRA at County Sligo, Ireland in 1979 that also killed his 14-year-old son Nicholas and elderly mother Dowager Lady Brabourne alongside with his father-in-law, retired World War II major general Lord Mountbatten and a local boat boy.
