Summary: innkeeper and longtime owner of the historic Harbour Oaks Inn that had been restored into an operating bed and breakfast in the small beach town of Pass Christian, Mississippi who was among one of more than 25,000 people reported missing and presumed dead in the aftermath of the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina tropical cyclone that struck the southeastern United States and killed at least 1,245 other people during the record-breaking 2005 Atlantic hurricane season as the storm caused severe destruction along the U.S. Gulf Coast from central Florida to Texas due to the storm surge and levee failure before making its second landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in southeast Louisiana in late August 2005, in which it was one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane.
