Summary: federal judge in Nevada appointed by President Carter in 1978 who was convicted in 1984 of tax evasion and removed from the bench by the Senate in 1986 and served 17 months in prison becoming the first federal judge to be sent to prison and seventh to be impeached, who was a high profile attorney previous to his appointment as judge representing such Las Vegas clients as Bugsy Siegel, Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra.
