Hamoudi "Don" Salum
Summary: Israeli-Arab lifeguard who had been hospitalized in critical condition for more than thirteen months from multiple shrapnel wounds and serious burns covering 85% of his body after spending over a year fighting for his life at an intensive car unit when a Katyusha rocket slammed into his family's home in Haifa, Israel while he attempted to rescue his mother and sister as the Hezbollah rockets started falling in the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood on the evening of August 6, 2006 during the Second Lebanon War, in which three other people were also killed in the same attack.
