Kenyan politician and independent councillor in Molo, Kenya who came into international attention in the 1990's when he and assistant minister Koigi wa Wamwere were charged with violent robbery for allegedly storming the Bahati Police Station in 1993, but who along with three other co-defendants were sentenced to four years in prison following a controversial trial in 1995 in a move that was condemned by the European Union and Amnesty International, among others and who was released in 1997.
