Summary: Russian-born widow of the late Taiwanese president Chiang Ching-kuo who avoided the spotlight and was known to be Taiwan's most low-key first lady, who fled to Taiwan in 1949 when the Communists defeated the Nationalists Party led by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek in a civil war and took over the mainland (her husband became president of Taiwan in 1978 and ended 38 years of martial law until his death in 1988), and whose husband was a notorious philanderer, fathering two sons with a mistress in China.
