Summary: inventor and founder of the landmark Hansen's Sno-Bliz corner shop in Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana who had invented and patented the first motor-driven ice-shaving machine known as "Sno-Bliz" that grinds ice to an impossibly fine powdery snow into delectable snowball desserts infused with fruit and candy-flavored homemade syrups when he and his wife Mary Hansen opened a snowball stand during the Great Depression in the 1930's and it has been operated continuously by the Hansen family ever since, but the shop closed for some time after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
