Dr. Louis T. Maxey, Sr.

Summary: retired plastic surgeon who was one of the first African-Americans to be a resident physician in plastic and maxillofacial surgery at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, who also had degrees in pharmaceutical sciences, dentistry and medicine, and who was involved in various organizations throughout the Gulf Coast Community, serving as a founding member and the first president of Mississippi Gulf Coast Blues Commission.
