Dean Harold Meyers
Summary: Vietnam War veteran who had been awarded the Purple Heart and the U.S. Army's Commendation Medal for Heroism after suffering gunshot wounds received in hostile action while serving with the First Cavalry unit as a 20 year old army rifleman in Phouc Vinh, South Vietnam on March 8, 1970 whose wounds left him with his left arm and hand disabled, but who subsequently worked as an engineer and project manager for 20 years at the Fairfax, Virginia-based civil engineering company Dewberry & Davis, Inc. that designed storm drainage systems for residential developments.
Cause of Death: Shot to death during the DC sniper shootings
