Summary: Alabama man who was convicted of murder for the 1983 shooting death of 16-year-old Kathleen Bedsole during a robbery and kidnapping in Jefferson County near Trussville, Alabama after he and an accomplice kidnapped the girl and her boyfriend from their parked car, put them in the trunk and drove them to a secluded area where they were shot (her boyfriend was wounded but survived), and who was the first inmate to be electrocuted since the U.S. Supreme Court agreed in October 1999 to consider whether Florida's use of the electric chair is cruel and unusual punishment.
