Daniel De Gale
Summary: British transplant patient whose courageous battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia inspired a major push to promote awareness of the disease in the United Kingdom's black community when his mother and stepfather launched the African-Carribean Leukaemia Trust in 1996 to support and assist black or mixed-parentage people suffering from leukemia and other blood-related cancers, and who became one of the first black patients in the U.K. to receive a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated matching donor after six years of chemotherapy.
