Summary: Norwegian-American retired caretaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pearlington, Mississippi who was among one of more than 6,600 people reported missing and presumed dead in the aftermath of the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina tropical cyclone that struck the southeastern United States and killed at least 1,245 other people during the record-breaking 2005 Atlantic hurricane season as the storm caused severe destruction along the U.S. Gulf Coast from central Florida to Texas due to the storm surge and levee failure before making its second landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in southeast Louisiana in late August 2005, in which it was one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane.
