Bernard F. Sliger
Summary: former president of Florida State University from 1977 to 1991 who oversaw record growth at the school he took into the Atlantic Coast Conference, in which the university also lured the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory away from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, acquired three supercomputers, and opened a Panama City campus under his leadership.
