Summary: Lebanese lawmaker and a former economy minister who was the only Protestant legislator in Lebanon's 128-member parliament when he was elected in 2000 as a member of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's bloc, who had suffered from severe burns he received in a massive bomb explosion that killed his close friend Rafik Hariri while he was sitting in the front seat of Hariri's car on Feb. 14, 2005 when a bomb blast killed 20 others and wounded more than 220 people.
