Summary: longtime supporter of Harrison County Sheriff George Payne and former Gulfport, Mississippi mayor Ken Combs who was reportedly hospitalized in extremely critical condition from blunt-force trauma injuries via an accidental fall caused by the floodwaters after his wife Stina Anderson found him on the floor at their Gulfport house that was flooded with 3 1/2 feet of water during the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina tropical cyclone that struck the southeastern United States and killed at least 1,245 other people during the record-breaking 2005 Atlantic season as the storm caused severe destruction along the U.S. Gulf Coast from central Florida to Texas due to the storm surge and levee failure before making its second landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in southeast Louisiana in late August 2005, in which it was one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane.
