Arthur Gamble, Jr.
Summary: former district attorney and circuit court judge who prosecuted Alabama Ku Klux Klansman Collie Leroy Wilkins in the 1965 murder of white civil rights worker Viola Liuzzo, in which the trial ended in a hung jury with 10 of 12 jurors voting for conviction and Wilkins was acquitted at a second trial but he and another Klansman Eugene Thomas were later convicted of civil rights violations in federal court and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
