Summary: founder and president of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London who organized annual trips to Switzerland to re-enact scenes at the locales described in the Arthur Conan Doyle books with participants in full Victorian costume, and who was largely responsible for the reconstruction of the Sherlock Holmes sitting-room which is the centerpiece of the Sherlock Holmes Museum at Mairingen.
