Summary: Tony-winning actress with a long list of memorable film and stage roles but best remembered for her role as Mrs. Robinson in 1967's The Graduate, who was among the most lauded actresses of the 1960's and 1970's, earning five Oscar nominations and winning an Oscar for her role as Anne Sullivan, the teacher of young Helen Keller in 1962's The Miracle Worker (that role in the original stage play also brought her one of two Tonys), and who was married for more than 40 years to comedian-director-producer Mel Brooks.
