Summary: Israeli prominent microbiologist and senior professor of hematology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem considered as an internationally known expert in blood clotting who had worked at Hadassah-University Hospital's haematology department for years but left for his native Tel Aviv, Israel in 1993 to head the haematology institute at Ichilov Hospital, and who was also a member of a team that identified eight new anti-clotting agents in the saliva of leeches in one of his best-known studies.
