senior member of the violent Islamic terror organization al-Qaeda who was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted terrorists' list for his alleged involvement in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings that killed more than 250 people and injured 4,000 others in East Africa, and who became a fugitive wanted by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2006 for questioning in connection with the 2002 attacks against a hotel and an Israeli airliner in Mombasa, Kenya.
