Summary: Mexican immigrant who had been hospitalized in critical condition for almost a month at an intensive care unit from severe burns suffered in the October 2007 wildfire that burnt over 500,000 acres across Southern California from Santa Barbara County to the U.S.-Mexican border killing 10 people and injured at least 85 others including 61 firefighters while he was illegally crossing the border along with about a dozen other migrants to visit his uncle in the United States, in which the blaze forced approximately 1,000,000 people to evacuate their homes and became the largest evacuation in California's history.
