Summary: retired U.S. Army veteran having served as a chef during World War II in the 1940's who had been hospitalized in critical condition for nearly two weeks from many internal injuries including blunt force trauma and a fractured collarbone suffered in the February 2, 2007 Groundhog Day tornado outbreak that struck across Central Florida and killed at least 20 people including his 81-year-old wife Doris Gantner in one of the nation's second-deadliest tornadoes on record.
