rapper and jihadist known as Deso Dogg who became famous in
the Berlin rap scene for his propagandist rap music and toured with the
American performer DMX in 2006, but who ended his rap career in 2010 after
converting to Islam and became one of the most high-profile Western fighters
recruiting for the Islamic State militant group in
Syria, where he fought with jihadist anti-government forces in the
Syrian Civil War under the nom de guerre of Abu Talha Al-Almani and was
listed as a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" by the U.S.
Department of State in 2015.
