Summary:
Nicaraguan peasant and detainee at the Assemblies of God Church controlled by religious sects in the rural community of El Cortezal in north-eastern Nicaragua who had remained hospitalized in critical condition at an intensive care unit for a week from first- and second-degree burns suffered over 80 percent of her body after she was allegedly thrown into a bonfire on Feb. 21, 2017 by religious fanatics outside a church in a remote part of Nicaragua, in which a clergy member from the congregation claimed he had instructions to build the fire to cure the victim after witnesses say she was stripped naked, burned and thrown into a gully during an exorcism ritual to "purify" her body from demons, but prosecutors said evangelical pastor Juan Gregorio Rocha Romero and four other people had been arrested in connection with the attack.
