retired accountant and mass murderer who committed the 2017 Las Vegas Strip shooting when he fired with semi-automatic weapons into a crowd of some 22,000 concertgoers at a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, killing 58 people and injured 527 others after police found a large quantity of ammunition and 23 firearms in his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino along Las Vegas Boulevard and whose motives remains unknown, in which the incident surpassed the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting as the deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman in modern U.S. history.
