Liberian nurse who was named among the Ebola Fighters celebrated as Time magazine's 2014 "Person of the Year" honors during the West African Ebola outbreak of 2014 that killed 11,310 people, who survived the disease herself and told her Ebola recovery story on the Doctors Without Borders website in 2014 noting that her parents and several other family members ended up dying during the Ebola outbreak while she was recuperating, but the survivors were heavily stigmatized even after the disease subsided in Liberia.
