Summary: noted falcon preservationist and wildlife biologist who is credited with helping to show eggshell thinning in endangered peregrine falcons that prompted the federal government to ban DDT for agricultural use in 1972, who was considered as an accomplished biologist and defender of peregrine falcons from environmental use and played a major role in saving peregrine falcons from extinction, whose research is partially responsible for banning DDT and other chemicals due to eggshell thinning in raptors in the mid-1960's.
