Summary: competition swimmer who made international headlines when at the age of 15 she won the U.S. Olympic trials in the 400-meter individual medley and placed sixth in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany in the same year Mark Spitz won seven gold medals, who won a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City, Mexico and later became a swimming coach at the Asheville Racquet Club in North Carolina.
