Saudi entrepreneur and communications manager for Saudi Arabia's largest bank National Commercial Bank who was among the 39 known fatalities reportedly shot and killed in a barbaric New Year's Day 2017 mass shooting at the upscale Reina nightclub in the Besiktas district of Istanbul, Turkey when an unidentified gunman opened fire inside the dance club with an AK-47 rifle after killing a police officer and a bystander at the entrance while hundreds of partygoers were celebrating the New Year holiday during the attack that also wounded at least 70 other people including nine other Saudi citizens, in which the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has claimed responsibility for the attack while the Turkish army were heightened security measures in the capital city with 17,000 police officers on duty following several terrorist attacks in the area, such as the June 2016 triple suicide attacks on the Istanbul Ataturk Airport that killed 48 people and a recent bombing at the Vodafone Arena which killed 37 police officers and eight civilians in December 2016.
