Summary: talented artist and straight-A student at Ukiah High School in Mendocino County, California who was hospitalized in critical condition for three weeks but had never regained consciousness from severe burns she suffered over 60 percent of her body in the devastating October 2017 Northern California wildfires that killed 42 people including her younger brother Kai Shepherd and also seriously injured at least 180 other people in a series of wildfires across Northern California's wine country after she and her family fled their mountainside home in Redwood Valley northeast of Ukiah, California on Oct. 9, 2017 while attempting to escape the approaching flames as the surrounding forest erupted in fire throughout Napa, Lake, Sonoma, Mendocino, Butte, and Solano counties during severe weather conditions in one of the five deadliest and most destructive wildfires in the state's recorded history, and whose badly-injured parents Sara and Jon Shepherd remain hospitalized with severe burns and are still recovering in hospital.
