convicted murderer and plaintiff in the Eighth Amendment court case Bigby v. Dretke, which re-addressed jury instructions in the U.S. Supreme Court ruling Penry v. Lynaugh that the execution of the mentally retarded does not violate it's ban on cruel and unusual punishments (he was a paranoid schizophrenic) after he confessed to the shooting death of 26-year-old Michael Trekell and drowning the man's four-month-old son Jayson Kehler in a bathroom sink at their suburban Dallas-Fort Worth trailer home during a Christmas Eve 1987 rampage, and who was also named a suspect in the killings of two other men in the Fort Worth, Texas area.
