Filipino Islamist militant affiliated with ISIS terror group who was formerly leader of the Abu Sayyaf Group (a jihadist organization founded with funds from al-Qaeda that is behind the spate of kidnappings and numerous bombing in the Philippines) before its battalions pledged their allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in 2014, and who had been appointed as the "emir of all Islamic State forces in the Philippines" in an April 2016 issue of ISIL's weekly newsletter Al Naba.
