Summary: retired internal medicine doctor at Kaiser Permanente hospitals in the East Bay of Oakland, California who was among one of the 42 known fatalities reportedly killed in the devastating October 2017 Northern California wildfires that burned at least 245,000 acres across Northern California's wine country and also left at least 180 people injured in the series of wildfires as the wind-driven blazes have spread throughout Napa, Lake, Sonoma, Mendocino, Butte, and Solano counties during severe weather conditions, in which it was one of the five deadliest and most destructive wildfires in recorded California history, but the cause of the fires remained under investigation.
