Summary:
Algerian-Canadian hygiene and biosecurity advisor with the local poultry organization known as the Interprofessional Poultry Organization employed with the Uniterra volunteer cooperation program operated jointly by the Montreal-based Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CESI) and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) who was reportedly among at least 18 known fatalities shot and killed in a August 13 terrorist attack when suspected Islamic militants opened fire at a popular Turkish restaurant and wounded several others during a raid on the restaurant and nearby hotel in Burkina Faso's capital city overnight, but security forces shot death the attackers in an ensuing shootout and freed people trapped inside the building, in which it is suspected by the government that al-Qaeda's Maghreb affiliate was behind the attack.
