Summary:
Indian veteran politician and charismatic leader of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) who represented the Nandyal Assembly constituency in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh when he was elected in the by-election to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1992 following the sudden death of his brother Bhuma Sekhar Reddy (a sitting MLA from Allagadda constituency), but who entered the limelight in 1996 when he was chosen as the TDP candidate to contest against the then-prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao in the elections to the Nandyal Sok Sabha constituency, and who was a Lok Sabha member for three consecutive terms serving in the 11th, 12th and 13th Lok Sabha elections.
